Enjoy a hike up Helvellyn or the surrounding peaks or, for less strenuous walking, try the scenic lakeshore paths around Ullswater. Steam boat trips on the lake are also popular.

The Hostel is great for groups, families, couples or individuals. The best ascents of Helvellyn start from outside the Hostel door.  The track to the Hostel is suitable for cars and minibuses, but not for coaches.
