Ocala National Forest
The Ocala National Forest located 3 miles east of Ocala, Florida is the second largest forest in the United States covering approximately 607 square miles. Rich in water resources with lakes, rivers and springs, and protecting the world's largest sand pine scrub forest, the Ocala National Forest is perfect for swimming, snorkeling and diving. There are four wilderness areas protected and managed to preserve their natural state, as well as equestrian trails and even black bears. The campground located in a subtropical forest offers tent pads, open and wooded sites, has a swimming beach as well as a 7 mile canoe run with canoes available for rent and scuba diving is allowed for certified divers, come for a wonderful visit and stay in black bear and alligator country, with beautiful wilderness surrounds.

Silver Springs State Park
The Silver Springs State Park in Ocala, Florida offers dozens of springs and miles of trails including horse trails and has more than 15 distinct natural communities complete with covered viewing deck on the Spring side. Visitors can walk along the river on paved trails or enjoy a glass bottom boat ride, and there's a restaurant, as well as canoe and kayak launch, as well as boat launch. The Silver Springs State Park has campground facilities with luxury cabins available and there's the Silver River Museum and Environmental Education Center to visit as well.
