The Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art in Staten Island, New York, founded in 1945, is an art museum that also offers visitors soothing Tai Chi and Meditation classes. This art museum offers its visitors a serene and peaceful retreat that was built to resemble a small Tibetan mountain monastery, and is devoted entirely to Tibetan art. The charming Samadhi Garden which means 'a deep level of concentrated meditation', is complete with a delightful fish pond, meditation cells and also features many original plantings of Jacques Marchais who is a highly regarded expert on Tibetan art. The Noble Maritime Collection
The Noble Maritime Collection in Staten Island, New York, was officially opened in 2000, and is a maritime museum and study center that is dedicated to preserving and interpreting historical maritime artifacts, writings and art work of John A Noble, a well known marine artist. The main attraction at this maritime museum is the houseboat studio of Noble, and the museum offers history and art programs in their classrooms known as Soul of Sail and Maurice L Shaw Navigation, and these programs are available to children and adults.
