Shelburne Whirligig and Weathervane Festival
Shelburne Whirligig and Weathervane Festival is an annual event of great family fun and entertainment right on the waterfront in Shelburne, Nova Scotia, Canada. Whirligigs are art that comes alive in the wind, and part of Nova Scotia's folk art, it's what you get when you put art and woodworking together, and during the festival whirligig makers put together their masterpieces. They even have kits for sale at the festival and each elaborate creation tells a story, you can vote for your favourite display and the winner gets announced at the end. The Shelburne Whirligig and Weathervane Festival offers many awars in the various whirligig categories, plus an award for the best weathervane, plus there are local arts and crafts displays, rug hooking, folk art as well as live concerts and more, it's not to be missed.
