The Hurdy Gurdy Museum of Vintage Radio in Howth, Co. Dublin, Ireland in Martello Tower North and offers a fascinating and interesting collection of radios, gramophones and other radio related paraphenalia, and is not run as a commercial enterprise. A team of volunteers provide tours and introductions to the collections, they also host regular events which includes a journey through the history of the city, visiting drinking establishments and more. The Hurdy Gurdy Museum of Vintage Radio also has a collections of stamps, telegrams and valves, as well as all manner of artefacts relating to the history of communication in Ireland, come for a memorable visit and walk back in time. The main purpose of the Ventspils International Radio Astronomy Center in Ventspils, Latvia is to take part in observations of cosmic sources of natural and artificial radiation. By doing this they accumulate observational data for fundamental and practical research programs in radio astronomy, astrophysics, cosmology, geophysics, geodynamics, geodesy, coordinate-time service and other in their own words. The 32-meter fully steerable parabolic, centimetre-wave range antenna RT-32 and a 16-meter diameter antenna RT-16 taken over by the Latvian academy of Science and based at the former Space Communication Center, has promoted the establishment of the Ventspils International Radio Astronomy Center or VIRAC to take the vision forward. The Lizard Marconi Wireless Station2015-05-29

The Lizard Marconi Wireless Station at The Lizard in Cornwall, UK is the oldest surviving Marconi Wireless Station in the World, and now also a museum and amateur radio station which are run by the National Trust. Set up by the Marconi Company at the end of 1900 to supply a ship-shore radio service for ships passing Lizard Point, it was also a research centre and monitoring station for the trans Atlantic Poldhu Wireless station at Poldhu Cove, Mullion. Today the museum housed in refurbished original buildings is a fascinating place to visit for a walk back in time to exactly what the station was like at the start of the 20th century, and equipment is demonstrated to visitors by volunteers. The Lizard Marconi Wireless Station has a display of old radio components and headphones and an amateur radio station in the adjoining room where visiting licensed amateurs may operate for a small charge.READ MORE
