Bronx Zoo in The Bronx, New York City, has been in existence since 1899, has been a popular destination ever since its opening, and since 1970, the Friends of the Zoo have been conducting guided tours to teach visitors about our animals and exhibits. Maritime Industry Museum at Fort Schuyler in the Bronx is a perfect example of people becoming volunteers because they are doing what they love,. The museum is totally reliant on donations, another labour of love. The Maritime Industry Museum was established in 1986, and is housed on the campus of the State University of New York (SUNY) Maritime College in historic Fort Schuyler, The Bronx. Maritime Industry Museum has received many donated objects and artifacts from steamship lines, related companies in the maritime industry, and merchant marine history buffs. A stroll through the museum is like taking a stroll through time.
