In 1991 Floyd and Lois Wilson saved the original hangar at Charlotte Douglas Airport from being torn down, and together with a group of aviation enthusiasts, formed Carolinas Historical Aviation Commission, and their vision was to preserve the aviation history of North and South Carolina. The first aircraft acquired by the organization was a North American T-28 Trojan. Carolinas Aviation Museum is a great destination for school field trips, scouts and home schools, and we can also host business meetings and other functions.
