The Amherst Historical Society in Amherst, Ohio displays, preserves and exhibits the local history and sandstone heritage including locally produced sandstone architecture and other historically significant structures. Come tour the historic buildings and grounds complete with blacksmith shop where volunteer blacksmiths produce handrails, hinges, nails and other hardware for use throughout the Sandstone Museum Center. The Amherst Historical Society also offer chapel and hall rentals ideal for events including intimate weddings and receptions as well as rehearsal dinners, and is the perfect venue for special events and business meetings, there's the St. George Chapel for wedding ceremonies accommodating up to 60 guests, and the Grange Hall is perfect for the reception or party up to 80 guests.
