There's an 87 foot tower with unusual design because the outer brick tower is conical, and a second inner brick tower is an 8 foot diameter cylinder, and the third order housed the Fresnel lens designed to collect and focus the light rays into a horizontal beam more efficiently than a reflector system, plus there are two lightkeepers houses which are now private residences. Today, Friends of the Fenwick Island Lighthouse have returned the lighthouse to it's former glory and ensure the light is kept on.READ MORE
