Aurora Historical Society in Aurora, Illinois, is a unique and interesting historical society that brings the history of the past into the present through research, preservation, presentation of exhibits, lectures and cocktail parties. Our historical society is housed in Tanner House Museum, a Victorian residence built in 1857, that is now a historic home and museum that is open to the public. Visitors to this museum can see how cooking was done back then, and can explore an elegant sitting room of yesteryear. Aurora Historical Society is ably assisted by willing volunteers in preserving history and historical facts.

Aurora Regional Fire Museum
The Aurora Regional Fire Museum in Aurora, Illinois, is a fascinating and interesting museum that is committed to preserving and exhibiting unique artifacts as well as the history of fire departments in the area. Fire safety and fire prevention is also taught and promoted at the museum. This non-profit fire museum first opened its doors in 1968, and is home to more than 1000 artifacts, volume upon volume of historical information as well as thousands of photographs and we eagerly accept donations of fire memorabilia, newspaper clippings and any other historical materials. The Aurora Regional Fire Museum is a unique venue for themed parties, workshops, corporate meetings and other events.
