The Historic Brownsville Museum located in the former Southern Pacific Railroad Depot built in 1928 in Brownsville, Texas collects and preserve objects of historic interest, and there's a reference library. They also provide facilities for research and publication, as well as educational outreach programs and exhibits include information from the earliest military fort in our area to displays of antique furniture, and common household items from days gone by. The Historic Brownsville Museum features an extensive collection of historical artifacts, photography and displays which are housed in the fully restored historical building showcasing examples of Spanish Colonial Revival architecture, which is registered as a National Register of Historical Places. The facility is available for rent to host meetings, private receptions and social events, come for a fascinating visit.
