Port of Karumba
The Port of Karumba is located at the mouth of the Norman River in Karumba, Queensland, Australia and they export zinc concentrate through the port which is piped 304 kilometres from the mine, then loaded onto a 5000 tonne transport vessel. The zinc is then taken to the export ships anchored in deep water in the Guld of Carpentaria. The Port of Karumba is also available for general cargo, fuel, fisheries products and the export of live cattle, they also offer transhipment facilities for other Gulf communities with refrigerated semi-trailers bringing goods to the port for transhipment.
