Laxey Woollen Mill and Gallery is proud to be the last working woollen mill on the Isle of Man, and this family owned establishment going back to when they first took over in the 1950's is to this day, adapting and turning into a wonderful craft centre. Using traditional weaving methods, the professional weaver and only commercial pattern weaver on the island, produces stunning quality rugs and scarves in beautiful designs including the famous Laxey Manx tartan. With over 100 years experience in the textile industry, here they produce gents, ladies, wedding and children's accessories, as well as rugs and throws, scarves and outerwear, tableware, toys, fabrics and tweeds and more and offer shipping worldwide and on-line ordering. Visitors to the Laxey Woollen Mill and Gallery can view the handloom in full operation on the ground floor, and artists exhibits in the gallery upstairs, while other parts of the building showcases jewellery and woodcraft workshops.

The Great Laxey Mine Railway offers a wonderful journey on this historical railway originally constructed to serve the Isle of Man's Great Laxey Mine. Passengers can today ride in a tiny carriage running from the old Laxey lead mine entrance, a quarter mile along the line, which once carried lead and zinc ores from the mine, and on to the Valley Gardens which is now the terminus, and once was the mine's washing floors.
