Kincardine Zoo
Zoos, or zoological gardens, exist in many forms all over the world. The first zoo showing wild animals from exotic locations to the public was opened in London Zoo, in 1828.
Zoo now often incorporate landscape immersion, where the animals' natural environment is recreated in their enclosures.
Modern zoos range from safari parks, where visitors drive through vast areas, seeing animals in the open range, to petting or childrens' zoos, where children can hold or stroke domestic and farm animals. Zoos also include aquariums, animal sanctuaries, animal theme parks, bird parks and reptile parks, and there are even butterfly zoos.

Bervie Zoological Park
Bervie Zoo in Kincardine, Ontario is a small family owned zoo offering a wonderful variety of animals that are part of the family, and you can enjoy tours for a donation with the loader tractor and staff. They are completely private now and animals to view include fox, bear, deer, two lions, two tigers, turkeys, alligators, pigs, goats, sheep, different types of monkeys, snakes and so much more. Bervie Zoo is located on a private farm, the exhibits are small, and the animals well cared for, bring the kids and come for a wonderful time of wildlife viewing and enjoying the animals, you'll be back.

Kincardine Lighthouse2014-12-08

The Kincardine Lighthouse in Kincardine, Ontario was originally built during the 1800's to service a busy fishing and local salt shipping industry. Sitting on top of a two-storey keeper's house, this historical site over three levels has a well worn staircase which was climbed twice daily by the lightkeepers. Back in the day kerosene was used to fuel the lamp, and these barrels were hoisted up the stairs by the lightkeepers, who ensured lighting passage to the safe harbour and port for shipping and major industries. The Kincardine Lighthouse tower is capped by an iron lantern and balcony and originally shutters rotated by weighted chains made the light flash, renovated in 1992, the lamp became electrically powered, and today boasts a 500-watt bulb which is visible from 30 kilometres, there is also a fascinating marine museum to visit here.READ MORE
