Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center
The Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center in Surf City, North Carolina is a non-profit organization staffed by volunteers dedicated to the care and release of sick and injured sea turtles. This sea turtle sanctuary receives no state or federal funding and welcome all donations which are applied directly to food, medical expenses and operating costs of the hospital. They are open for tours everyday except Wednesday and Sunday, and the new facility is filled with turtles, volunteers and new exhibits, with more to come. The Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center offers conservation and protection for all species of marine turtles both in the water and on the beach, as well as their rescue, rehabilitation and release, they also inform and educate the public, and provide an experiential learning site for students of biology, wildlife conservation, and/or veterinary medicine from around the world, please support the gift shop when visiting, they have lovely toys and clothing for sale, coffee and more.
