The Lynde Shores Conservation Area in Whitby, Ontario offers excellent wildlife viewing opportunities, and is a wonderful habitat for nestling birds, as well as important stopover for migrating waterfowl and shorebirds along the north shore of Lake Ontario. With over 272 hectares, as well as 40 hectares of adjacent Cranberry West tract, the Lynde Shores Conservation Area is a coastal wetland of two marshes, and there are a number of looping trails that are suitable for the little one's and wheelchair accessible. Activities here are many, and include fishing and picnicking, canoeing and paddling, hiking, mountain biking, dog sledding, nature studies, snowshoeing and cross country skiing, as well as wildlife viewing, come for a wonderful visit to the beautiful surrounds.
