Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai is an elephant rescue and rehabilitation center in a natural environment with a thriving herd. Visitors are invited to volunteer and help contribute to the healing of these magnificent animals under the parks care, and there is the opportunity to learn about the lives of the animals past and present. The eco tourism sanctuary provides a haven for dozens of distressed elephants from all over Thailand, and is set in a natural valley of forested mountains with a river border. At the Elephant Nature Park there is also a Rain Forest Restoration project development of tree planting in the surrounding area, to re-introduce a rain forest to the area with 25 acres of the mountainside planted every year for the first 5 years. Visitors can also enjoy elephant conservation tours and staying overnight in the park in rustic, bamboo fan cooled huts.

Gleninchaquin Park in Kenmare, County Kerry, Ireland is located on the North West side of the Beara Peninsula and is a long narrow coombe valley with spectacular waterfall that feeds the succession of lakes along the valley floor. Created approximately 70,000 years ago by glaciation, the valley features wonderful flora and trees as well as an abundance of birdlife including numerous birds of prey, also in residenc are red squirrels, stoat and the Kerry slug, and the valley plays host to many migrants. Gleninchaquin Park is steeped in history, and today features stone circles, standing stones, an earthen ring fort, burial sites and fulacht fiadh where natives from long ago would have cooked their meals, come for a wonderful visit and learn about the heritage, botany, geology and so much more, it's a memorable experience.
