North of Tairua is the rugged coastal area of Sailors Grave - an area for a fine half day coastal work. Inland, the Tairua River runs to the sea from its source in the Coromandel Range, snaking through historic Broken Hills on its journey.

Hamble-le-Rice, more commonly known as Hamble, is located in Hampshire on the south coast of England. Hamble-le-Rice is a yachting mecca: the nearby River Hamble is often packed with yachting traffic and during the summer the whole village is crowded with people out enjoying the water. The village and its river are one of the many locations that made up the fictional village of Tarrant in the BBC television series Howards Way, shown weekly on BBC1 in the late 1980s.

On the banks of the Clyde River's broad sweeping estuary, the seaside resort of Batemans Bay enjoys simply brilliant views both upriver, to the mountains, and seaward, to the island dotted horizon. Chains of beautiful beaches and National Parks lie to the north and south. There are long, sandy strips with rolling surf and, only minutes away, rockpools, coves and quiet waters for family outings. Batemans Bay is home to the famous Clyde River oyster and seafood features prominently on the menu of many local waterside restaurants. The Forest Gallery on the South Durras Road is definitely worth a look. At Birdland in Batemans Bay there has been considerable work undertaken recently. This is a great place for families - and it can be touchy feely too. You can handle friendly wombats and snakes and see a diverse range of Australian animal and bird species. Kids - and kids at heart - will love it.

Vlissingen, or Flushing in English, is a municipality and a city in the southwestern Netherlands on the former island of Walcheren. With its strategic location between the Scheldt river and the North Sea, Vlissingen has been an important harbour for centuries. It was granted city rights in 1315. In the 17th century Vlissingen was a main harbour for ships of the Dutch East India Company (VOC). It is also known as the birthplace of Admiral Michiel de Ruyter.
