Simon's Town is a lovely village with a short walk to the beach and a few minutes away is the famous Jackass penguin colony, Scratch Patch and Cape Point. Simon's Town (also widely but incorrectly referred to as Simonstown, is a village and a naval base in South Africa, near Cape Town. It is located on the shores of False Bay, on the eastern side of the Cape Peninsula.

This is one of the most popular resorts on the sunny KwaZulu Natal South Coast, famous for its strelitzia (bird of paradise) flowers. An attempt was made to use the bay to export sugar but it offered scant shelter from rough seas. However, boats found rich fishing grounds nearby at the Aliwal Shoal. A lighthouse was built in 1892 to mark the shoal, but was eventually moved to Port Shepstone. The village soon became a thriving resort and trading centre as it is today. Apart from a fine beach with shark-protected bathing and tidal pools, Scottburgh has a crocodile breeding farm, miniature railway and a bird watching hide in the coastal forest.

Blakeney is a small village on the north coast of Norfolk UK in an area of outstanding natural beauty and remains largely untouched by the pace and commercialism of modern life. The village is recorded in King William's Domesday Book of 1086 under the name Esnuterle, later known as Snitterley. By 1240 the haven in the lee of the shingle ridge was known as Blakeney, and this became the name of the village.
