Dangast

Dangast is known for its ancient spa (built in 1820 as a successor to the spent first "Conversationshauses" From 1804 until today, the restaurant of Karl August Tapken, whose rhubarb pie has a legendary reputation) and the Sielhafen from which boat tours through the Jadebusen with Etta Dangast to be carried out.

It has a 2 km-long sandy beach, which during the flood period can be bathed, and several campsites and a large saltwater pool, the DanGastQuellbad. The latter will consist of a 573 meters below sea level, located iodine salt spring. This is around 40 million years old seawater. The beach at the spa is available free.

In the summer months is the three-day festival Dangast harbor an attraction known regionally, to a so rare as spectacular in the championship mud sled race belongs. The Watts before Dangast is due to a lack of flow from a lot of fine sediment and is therefore very slippery. At Watt walks you often sink to the calf. A well-known hike, which only under experienced leadership should be undertaken, leading to the lighthouse Arngast.
