The town of Rantum is so called because it is the narrowest place on the island of Sylt. The breaking North Sea in the west and the calm Watts in the east surround the village with many reed covered houses, which match the contour into the dune landscape.
South Rantum, a municipality continues to be, above all, a town in which relaxation is possible for the whole family foremost.
Enjoy in the west the kilometer-long Sanstrände whether in the Strandkorb, with the building of castles or in the cool wet of the North Sea. For food supplies several beach kiosks and surface covering sanitary plants are provided.
On the eastern side the Watts are very calmly and idylly lain. There you experience the fascinating nature plays of the bird protected area with led migrations.
Those of you who would rather prefer to explore the island alone, a Radtour or a migration should not be missed over the Rantum basin with unsolicited meadow lambs.
The small Rantumer invites port with its kiosk and own Räucherei to staying. The port bay is used also gladly by beginner surfers, since one does not expect large wave formation on the Watt side.
Beside the usual accommodations Rantum possesses one of the largest camping sites of the island. A special attraction is also the so-called Sylt source. If you do not already know this famous welfare and mineral water from at home, you can purchase it here directly at the source!
