The view of Skiathos from Glossa is magnificent. Glossa is also clearly visible from Skiathos, especially after dark when its lights can be spotted from far away. The harbor, with its hydrofoil connections, is large and close to the village. Accommodations, hard to come by in Glossa, may be found here.
A five minute drive from Glossa village takes one down to the small port and pebble beach of Loutraki with its peaceful waterfront, shaded by plane trees, of tavernas and bars, which overlook a colourful assortment of fishing boats.
The town's elevation is 200 to 300 meters. Glossa is located about 10 km northwest of Skopelos (town) and about 25 km coach or automobile with the island's only important road.
