Blue waters, a seemingly endless organized beach, the pleasant cool summer climate and mild winters, big hotel complexes as well as smaller friendly ones, shops of all kinds, and many night-clubs all contribute to make lalyssos (or Ialysos) bay one of the most popular resorts on the island.

Thanks to the ideal conditions of the region, important international windsurfing competitions often take place here. The scenery is more or less the same, Wherever you may find yourself along the Ialyssos shoreline: the heach is highly organized with the gardens and swimming pool just behind and at the rear the multi-storey hotels with their tennis courts and other facilities. Just as at Ixia, the hotel beaches alternate with organized public beaches, used mainly by visitors from those local hotels that do not have their own private beach. It is an ideal place for those who love swimming, and for surfers as well as there is often a good wind. Equipment for hire is available.
