Sapri

Sapri is a town and comune in the province of Salerno in the Campania region of south-western Italy. It is the one of the southernmost town of the region of Cilento. The town is a port on Tyrrhenian Sea, located in the southern part of Campania,close to the border with Basilicata. Sapri has a population of 7.022 inhabitants (Sapresi) and a surface of 13,8 square kilometers thus showing a population density of 508,84 inhabitants per square kilometer. It rises 5 metres above the sea level. Population: The municipality of Sapri had a popolation of 6.961 inhabitants accordingly to the results of the national census made in 1991. After the national census made in 2001 the population was 7.022 inhabitants, thus showing during the years 1991 - 2001 a percentual variation of 0,88% inhabitants. The inhabitants are distributed in 2.496 families with an average of 2,81 people per family. The place: The territory of the municipality lies between 0 and 733 metres above sea level.
