Today the canal port is still the city's heart, where the boats of the modern fishing fleets tie up facing the typical restaurants famous for their fish cuisine. In the canal port, planned by Leonardo Da Vinci, you can admire the Maritime Museum, a practically unique and very beautiful collection of ancient boats, whose multi-coloured sails and hulls recount the story of centuries of fishing and maritime traffic. Cesenatico Beaches A seaside town where you can make new friends, listen to music and practise sports. The coastline of Cesenatico extends for 7 kilometres and includes the beaches of Zadina, Ponente, Levante, Valverde and Villamarina. The beach is between 100 and 200 metres wide, with fine flat golden sands.

The temperature is already mild in May and remains pleasant through September. The sea-bed is soft, without holes or currents and is gently sloped, making the area especially suited to children and "beginners". The bathing area, in which no boats are allowed, extends 500 metres out from the beach, making swimming even safer. Safety and water standards are monitored by a special "sentinel" - the boat Daphne II, a floating scientific laboratory that checks the state of health of the sea every day.
