Toscolano Maderno is a town on the West coast of Lake Garda, in the province of Brescia, in the region of Lombardy, in Italy. It is located c. 40 km from Brescia. It includes the two towns of Toscolano, an industrial center, and Maderno, a tourist resort, united into a single comune in 1928. The remains of ancient paper mills, one of which was recently turned into a museum, can be seen dotting the Valle delle Cartiere (Paper Mill Valley), one of the most interesting industrial archeology sites in Northern Italy. Both Maderno and Toscolano have several notable artistic sights, especially in their town squares with their ancient churches.
