Tenero-Contra is a common Canton in Ticino of 2,382 inhabitants, on Lake Maggiore. The municipality is a small part of Lake Vogorno.
Tenero is a small town situated at the beginning of Lake Maggiore (or Verbano). There also runs the Verzasca River. In summer tenero reaches a total of about 13,000 people, of which 10,000 are tourists (coming for the most part from Germany and Switzerland).
The town offers many services, such as various food shops and several restaurants and hotels. A shopping mall has recently been constructed including food shops, DIY, clothing, electronics, etc.. Tenero is also a commercial hub, there are several businesses located medium and large sizes.
In addition to tourism, Tenero is known for CST (sports centre Tenero, national infrastructure). This very large structure provides an opportunity to sportsmen in the area and to the various schools that are regularly practicing sports a week. The center has 9 gyms, halls 2 weights, swimming pools, Finnish track. You can practice of sailing, beach volleyball through mountain biking and ending with 'climbing.
