Corsham

Corsham is an historic market town famous also for the Bath Stone which is still extracted from quarries today. Disused quarries have been redeployed for other purposes, from defence to wine storage, from off-site data protection storage to its use as a set in the film industry

In the northwest of town lies Pickwick, once a separate settlement. The name derives from Anglo-Saxon pic (meaning a peak or pointed hill) and wic (village)and was the inspiration for Charles Dickens novel The Pickwick Papers. Pickwick is also noted for The Two Pigs, a real ale pub which is a Grade II listed building.
