Cape Sable Island

Cape Sable Island also locally referred to as Cape Island and not to be confused with Sable Island, is located at the southernmost point of the Nova Scotia peninsula, Canada. The island is small but so worth coming to an joined to the mainland by the narrow strait of Barrington Passage with maritime climate and is a notable birding destination, being an important migratory stopping point for such as the Atlantic brant and piping plover. Cape Sable Island offers miles of white sandy beaches, exquisite seafood including lobster on the menu, kayak and paddle the bays. Cape Sable Island is also the birthplace of the world renowned Cape Island, a brightly colored fishing boat, so visit the Seaside Heritage Centre and learn more about them, there is much to see and do here.
