Truckee

Truckee was named after a Paiute chief, and his assumed Paiute name was Tru-ki-zo, the first Europeans to cross the Sierra Nevada encountered his tribe, and after riding towards them shouting Tro-Kay meaning everything is all right, they assumed he was yelling his name, he later served as a guide. Truckee is a town in Nevada County, California, United States located along Interstate 80 and there are hotels, restaurants, a brewery, and many hiking trails nearby.
