College Park Aviation Museum in College Park, Maryland, was opened in 1998, and this top class facility is housed on the ground of one of the oldest operating airports in the world. It is the aim and goal of the museum to research, preserve and promote not only the history of the College Park Airport but also its collections, as well as WWI aviation in general, and by operating this site as a museum, it provides educational exhibits, tours, special events and programs for visitors, scholars and tourists. The restoration facility of the College Park Aviation Museum is manned by a crew of enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers, and supervised by a restoration facility manager, and the task of this facility is to restore and to construct accurate reproductions of historic aircraft.
