Right at the heart of Rio, Leblon Beach is one of the many charming spots of the town. Separated from Ipanema beach by Allah's Gardens, this is a place of contrasts, as here one may find both dangerous favelas aiming for the long hour street fights in the lower region as well as impressive residential communities on the upper coast.
This is the area where most of the famous buildings and exclusive hotels are located. Marina Hotel could be one of the expensive accommodation choices for you if you wish to admire the sunset from your veranda.
The beach offers many attractions to its tourists, mainly families with kids that come here to sunbathe, play and mold some impetuous white sand castles for the thrill and joy of their babies.
Still young couples may enjoy the lively night life scene with its fascinating blend of beach, bars and boutiques. Leblon sands are the core attraction of the day for the joggers, cyclers and active people loving to kip fit, exercise and relax.
In the north it is bordered by Gávea, and in the west by a towering hill called "Dois Irmãos", which translates as "two brothers", because of its split peak.
It's very much like Ipanema but even more exclusive, being the home of very rich and affluent people. The beach is a bit more quiet and relaxed than the hip and trendy beach of Ipanema. The neighborhood has the highest land prices of Brazil and Latin America.
