Castine is a small coastal village located on a peninsula in Maine's East Penobscot Bay region. The town is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is home to two historic forts and more than 100 historic markers. The village streets are lined with beautifully restored homes and buildings representing 18th century architecture. Area restaurants, inns, art galleries, and gift shops offer the traveler additional activities.

Southwest Harbor, Maine, is located at the southwestern entrance to Somes Sound on Mount Desert Island. It is often referred to as the quiet side of the island because it has a mellower pace and is an easy distance from the more tourist oriented and busy Bar Harbor, located on the Northeast side of the island. Southwest Harbor has some great shops, galleries and eateries worth checking out. Access to the offshore islands by boat can be found here as well.

Skegness is a thriving resort on the East Coast of England. Skegness once extended much further out to sea and the coastline has suffered erosion over many years though it is now gaining ground. We know that the area has been occupied since before Roman times. Roman pottery can be found today on the shore, it makes a change from collecting sea shells! Salt was manufactured along much of the low lying coast of Lincolnshire in Roman times and evidence of their working sites and even artifacts bearing their fingerprints can still be found today.

Blakeney is a small village on the north coast of Norfolk UK in an area of outstanding natural beauty and remains largely untouched by the pace and commercialism of modern life. The village is recorded in King William's Domesday Book of 1086 under the name Esnuterle, later known as Snitterley. By 1240 the haven in the lee of the shingle ridge was known as Blakeney, and this became the name of the village.

Cromer is one of the most attractive seaside resorts in Norfolk, and is also an important residential, administrative and service centre for the growing population of North Norfolk - yet Cromer still retains the air of Victorian and Edwardian charm at its heart. A recent regeneration programme has enhanced this charm whilst introducing new facilities in the town and on the seafront.

Wells-next-the-Sea, known locally simply as Wells, is a town, civil parish and seaport situated on the North Norfolk coast in England.

Heacham started to become popular as a seaside resort with the Victorians due to the opening of the railway line between King's Lynn and Hunstanton in the early 1860s. The beach at Heacham is one of the few beaches in eastern England where the sun sets over the sea instead of over land. As such, with the right weather conditions, beautiful sunsets can be viewed.

Between Burnham Overy Staithe and the sea, the river spreads out into multiple tidal creeks through the salt marshes that fringe the coast hereabouts, and finally leaves land behind by passing though the fronting sand dunes at a gap locally known as Burnham Harbour. Small boats can reach Burnham Overy Staithe through this gap and creek. Today Burnham Overy Staithe, and the associated harbour, is a major recreational sailing centre. It is also the point of departure for ferries to the Scolt Head Island National Nature Reserve.
