Yorkeys Knob
Yorkeys Knob is one of the Far North's favourite beaches for locals and visitors to the area. The beach stretches for miles looking out to the Coral Sea, and is a mere 10 minutes drive from the centre of Cairns city. Yorkeys Knob is a popular spot for water activities such as sailing, windsurfing, kite surfing and fishing. At the southern end of the beach is a creek that opens onto a large sandbar. At low tides it is possible to walk out to sea for hundreds of meters and have only your shins doused in water. This is also a very good fishing location.
