Hamburg is a major port city situated on the Elbe River in northern Germany. 1,740,000 inhabitants make it Germany's second-largest city. The Greater Hamburg Metropolitan Region has a population of four million. It is at the same time one of the 16 German Bundeslaender (states).

Foehr is one of the North Frisian Islands on the German coast of the North Sea. It is part of the Nordfriesland district in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein. Föhr is the second-largest North Sea island of Germany.

Buesum is a fishing and tourist town in the district of Dithmarschen, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is situated on the North Sea coast, approx. 18 km southwest of Heide.

Amrum is one of the North Frisian Islands on the German North Sea coast, south of Sylt and west of Fohr. It is part of the Nordfriesland district in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein. With the island being a refuge for many endangered species of plants and animals, its soil being largely unfavourable for agriculture and as a popular seaside resort in general, Amrum's population almost exclusively lives from the tourism industry.

Sankt Peter-Ording is a very popular German seaside resort and a municipality in the district of Nordfriesland, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is situated on the North Sea coast, on the western tip of the Eiderstedt peninsula, approx. 45 km southwest of Husum.

Wangerooge is one of the 32 Frisian Islands in the North Sea that are located close to the coasts of the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark. It is also a municipality in the district of Friesland in Lower Saxony in Germany.

Cuxhaven is a large independent town and seat of the Cuxhaven district, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated on the shore of the North Sea at the mouth of the Elbe River. Cuxhaven has a footprint of 14 km (east-west) by 7 km (north-south). It is a popular vacation spot on the North Sea and home to about 52,000 residents.

Wilhelmshaven is a town in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated at the western coast of the Jadebusen, which is a bay of the North Sea. Population: 83,238 (2006).

Flensburg is an independent town in the North of the German state Schleswig-Holstein. Flensburg is the centre of the region Southern Schleswig. After Kiel and Lübeck it is the third largest town in Schleswig-Holstein.

Kiel is the capital and most populous city of the northern German state Schleswig-Holstein. Kiel is approximately 90 km to the north of Hamburg. Due to its geographic location in the north of Germany, the southeast of the Jutland peninsula, and the southwestern shore of the Baltic Sea, Kiel has become one of the main maritime centres of Germany.  

Bremerhaven is the seaport of the free city and federal state of Bremen, Germany. It forms an enclave in the state of Lower Saxony and is located at the mouth of the River Weser on its eastern bank, opposite the town of Nordenham. Though a relatively new city, it has a long history as a trade port and today is one of the most important German ports, playing a crucial role in Germany's trade.

Esens is a municipality in the district of Wittmund, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated near the North Sea coast, approx. 14 km northwest of Wittmund, and 20 km northeast of Aurich. Esens is also the seat of the Samtgemeinde ("collective municipality") Esens.  

Horumersiel is situated in Friesland, Weser-Ems, Niedersachsen, Germany, its geographical coordinates are 53° 41' 0" North, 8° 1' 0" East and its original name (with diacritics) is Horumersiel.

Spiekeroog is one of the East Frisian Islands, off the North Sea coast of Germany. It is situated between Langeoog to its west, and Wangerooge to its east. The island belongs to the municipality of the district of Wittmund, in Lower Saxony in Germany. The only village on the island is also called Spiekeroog.

Husum is the capital of the Kreis (district) Nordfriesland in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. The town is most notable for being the birthplace of the novelist Theodor Storm, who coined the epithet "the grey town by the sea".

Pellworm is one of the North Frisian Islands on the North Sea coast of Germany. It is part of the Nordfriesland district in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein. Its area is 37 km², and its population is circa 1,200.

Dagebuell is a municipality located at the west coast of Schleswig-Holstein in the Nordfriesland district, Germany.

Hooge is a small island off the coast of Germany. It is the second largest of the ten halligen in the Wadden Sea, after Langeneß. This hallig is frequently called the Queen of the Halligen. The houses are built on ten so called terpen.

Butjadingen is a peninsula and municipality in the Wesermarsch districts, in Lower Saxony, Germany. The natural boundaries are formed in the north by the Außenweser, in the west and south-west by the Außenjade and in the east and north-east by the River Weser.

Dangast, the northern seaside resort is situated on the southwestern Dangast Jadebusen in the county of Friesland and is part of the town of Varel, and has about 700 residents.

Langeoog is one of the seven inhabited East Frisian Islands at the edge of the Lower Saxon Wadden Sea in the southern North Sea. It is also a municipality in the district of Wittmund in Lower Saxony, Germany. The name Langeoog means Long Island in the Low German dialect.

Schleswig is a town in the northeastern part of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.

Wyk auf Foehr is the only town on Foehr, the second largest of the North Frisian Islands on the German coast of the North Sea. Like the entire island it belongs to the district of Nordfriesland. Wyk includes the two minor town districts of Boldixum and Suedstrand.

Utersum is a municipality on the island of Foehr, in the district of Nordfriesland, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. The municipality includes the hamlet of Hedehusum.

Hoernum is a municipality in the district of Nordfriesland, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is located on the southern headland of the island of Sylt. The municipality is part of the Amt Landschaft Sylt.
