Bregenz is the capital of Vorarlberg, the westernmost federal state of Austria. The city is located on the eastern shores of Lake Constance, the third-largest freshwater lake in Central Europe, between Switzerland in the east and Germany in the northwest.

As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 942 and an area of 6.7 km². Gera Lario borders the following municipalities: Colico, Dubino, Montemezzo, Piantedo, Sorico, Trezzone, Vercana.
