The Bay itself is approximately15km long and 10km wide. It is a spacious natural harbour sheltered by headlands of forest and heathland which jut out leaving a relatively narrow entrance. With a depth of 27 metres it is thought to be the deepest sheltered harbour in Australia. The waters are remarkably beautiful and range in hue from aquamarine to a deep blue.

Kearns is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Kearns is located 57 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Campbelltown.

At first sight there does not seem to be much to Sutton Forest - an intersection on the Illawarra Highway between the Freeway and Moss Vale. The entire area between the Bong Bong River (a few kilometres north of Moss Vale) and Paddy's Creek (about ten minutes' drive toward and along the freeway south) was once called Sutton Forest.

Thirroul is a northern seaside suburb of the city of Wollongong, Australia, with the name supposedly Aboriginal for "Valley of Cabbage Tree Palms".
