Located about 170 km from Sydney, Jervis Bay is both an inlet and the basis of the uniquely beautiful Booderee National Park which is a popular holiday destination. The Bay itself is approximately15km long and 10km wide. It is a spacious natural harbour sheltered by headlands of forest and heathland which jut out leaving a relatively narrow entrance. With a depth of 27 metres it is thought to be the deepest sheltered harbour in Australia. The waters are remarkably beautiful and range in hue from aquamarine to a deep blue.

Kearns is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Kearns is located 57 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Campbelltown.

Being the gateway to Sydney's South Coast the Kiama Municipality stretches from Gerroa and Seven Mile Beach in the south, west through to the Jamberoo Mountain escarpment and north to the Minnamurra River. Oatley is a small village at the south-western end of Jervis bay surrounded by National Park. It is two and a half hours drive south of Sydney, or 3 hours north east of Canberra.

Popular holiday destination close to the larger settlement of Nowra St Georges Basin is a large (12-km long) but shallow lagoon with a tree-covered shoreline. Several villages have developed around the edge of the lake, St Georges Basin township (187 km south of Sydney via the Princes Highway) and Sanctuary Point being the largest with a combined population of 4610.

At first sight there does not seem to be much to Sutton Forest - an intersection on the Illawarra Highway between the Freeway and Moss Vale. Few people live here: of those only there are only a few houses, now off the main road; the rest live on properties which spread out towards Moss Vale, Berrima, and Exeter. However, the name is famous, and the visitor is greeted with the sight of dozens of cars parked around the main buildings on weekends and holidays. Why do they come here? For the same reason they have been doing so for over 150 years - as passing travellers, and as visitors to this picturesque part of the Southern Highlands. The entire area between the Bong Bong River (a few kilometres north of Moss Vale) and Paddy's Creek (about ten minutes' drive toward and along the freeway south) was once called Sutton Forest.

Thirroul is a northern seaside suburb of the city of Wollongong, Australia, with the name supposedly Aboriginal for "Valley of Cabbage Tree Palms". Situated between Austinmer and Bulli, it is approximately 13 kilometres north of Wollongong, and 69 km south of Sydney. It lies between the Pacific Ocean and a section of the Illawarra escarpment known as Lady Fuller Park, adjacent to Bulli Pass Scenic Reserve.
