Makarska is a small town on the Adriatic coastline of Croatia, about 60 km southeast of Split and 140 km northwest of Dubrovnik. Administratively Makarska has the status of a town and it is part of the Split-Dalmatia county.

Trogir is the best-preserved Romanesque-Gothic complex not only in the Adriatic, but in all of Central Europe. Jelsa is a municipality in on the island of Hvar, Croatia. It is located in the Split-Dalmatia county. It has a population of 3,656 (2001 census), 96% which are Croats. Jelsa is surrounded by pine forests and hills in which hotels and resorts are evenly placed.
