The holiday resort of Fuschl am See is located between the festival city of Salzburg (20km) and the spa resort of Bad Ischl (30km) in the beautiful Salzkammergut. It can easily be reached by car and public transport services.

What it is, is an easy going, fun, ski resort. One where there does not seem to be a great distinction between visitors who are older and more financially stable, and the tremendous young crowd that Kirchberg attracts, who, more often than not, are watching their budgets very closely.

Salzburg is the fourth-largest city in Austria and the capital of the federal state of Salzburg. Salzburg's "Old Town" with its world famous baroque architecture is one of the best-preserved city centres north of the Alps, and was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997.

Zell am See is the capital of the Zell am See district in the Austrian state of Salzburg. It is the second largest city in the Pinzgau with about 10,000 inhabitants. Zell am See is a tourist destination and a transportation hub for the region.  

Grundlsee is a municipality in the Liezen district, which counted 1294 inhabitants during the last census (2001). It is located on Lake Grundlsee.

St. Wolfgang is a market town in the Salzkammergut region of Upper Austria, named after Saint Wolfgang of Regensburg. Situated on the northern shore of the Wolfgangsee at the foot of the Schafberg mountain, it is famous for the White Horse Inn, the setting of the musical comedy and for its pilgrimage church with a late Gothic altarpiece by Michael Pacher.

Lake Toplitz (German: Toplitzsee) is a lake situated in a dense mountain forest high up in the Austrian Alps, 98 km (60 miles) from Salzburg in western Austria. It is surrounded by cliffs and forests in the picturesque Salzkammergut lake district within the Totes Gebirge, or dead mountains. After a depth of 20m, the Toplitzsee water contains no oxygen. Fish can survive only in the top 18m, as the water below 20m is salty. Bacteria and worms have been found that can live without oxygen.

Faaker See or Lake Faak is an alpine lake in the Austrian state of Carinthia. With a surface of approximately 2.2 km² it is the state's fifth largest lake.

Mondsee is an Austrian town in the Vocklabruck district in Upper Austria located on the shore of the lake Mondsee. The length from north to south is 9.5 km, and width from east to west is 7.7 km. There is features a church used for the site of the wedding in The Sound of Music.

Millstatt is a market town in Carinthia, Austria. Within the Central Eastern Alps it is situated on a peninsula on the northern shore of the Lake Millstatt, in the district of Spittal an der Drau.

Seeboden is a town in the Spittal an der Drau district in Carinthia, Austria.

Strobl am Wolfgangsee is a village in the northeastern portion of the Austrian state of Salzburg, right on the border of Upper Austria. It lies on the eastern side of lake Wolfgangsee in the Salzkammergut resort region

St. Gilgen is a picturesque village by the Wolfgangsee in the Austrian state of Salzburg, in the "Salzkammergut" region. It has 3,753 inhabitants, lies at 545 metres above sea level and covers an area of 98.67 square kilometres. The parish church is dedicated to Saint Aegidius (Latin), in English Saint Giles, which is reflected in the name of the town, Sankt Gilgen.

Velden am Woerthersee is a market town in the district of Villach-Land in the Austrian state of Carinthia. Situated at the western shore of the Wörthersee lake it is one of the most popular holiday resorts of Austria.

Steindorf am Ossiacher See is a municipality in the district of Feldkirchen in Carinthia in Austria.

Ossiach is a municipality in the Feldkirchen district in Carinthia, Austria. It is located at the southern shore of Lake Ossiach, on the slope of the small Ossiacher Tauern range within the Nock Mountains at the road between Villach and Feldkirchen. The commune consists of the Katastralgemeinden Alt-Ossiach, Ossiach, Ostriach, Rappitsch, Tauern and Untertauern.

Hallstatt, Upper Austria is a village in the Salzkammergut, a region in Austria. It is located near the Hallstätter See (a lake). At the 2001 census it had 946 inhabitants. Peter Scheutz has been mayor of Hallstatt since 1993.
