Ambleside lies in the Lake District National Park at the head of the largest lake in England, Windermere. A major tourist resort, Ambleside boasts plentiful shops, hotels and restaurants, an ideal base for exploring the Lake District.

Bowness-on-Windermere is a sprawling tourist town on the shore of Windermere, about halfway along the 12 mile length of the lake between Waterhead at the North end, and Lakeside at the South end. It developed after the opening of the railway line from Oxenholme and Kendal to Windermere in 1847. Bowness was the nearest accessible point on the lake. The Victorian influence can be seen everywhere - in the late 19th century, wealthy businessmen from Lancashire built large residences overlooking the lake, and many of these have now been converted to hotels

Hawkshead is a village in the Lake District, England. It is one of the prettiest villages in the Lake District with many buildings dating from the 1600s. It has a lively community and a high pub to population ratio.

The town offers a wide variety of attractions including:- museums, galleries, shops, restaurants, pubs and a selection of beautiful parks. Derwent Water, the most picturesque lake in Cumbria is only a ten-minute stroll, where you can catch the regular ferry to any of the six jetties around the lake. From there you can walk on Cat Bells, Maiden Moor and the many other beautiful fells, or visit Ashness Bridge, Lodore Falls and the village of Grange.

The English Lake District has long been a popular holiday destination. Windermere is a small village situated on a hill to the east of a lake of the same name. From Windermere, you can enjoy many different tours of the Lake District with tour companies.

The Yorkshire Dales (also known as The Dales) is the name given to an upland area, in Northern England.    

'Tynemouth' is a town and historic resort in Tyne and Wear, England, situated at the mouth of the River Tyne, between North Shields (on the Tyne) and Whitley Bay (on the coast to the North). It is administered as part of the borough of North Tyneside, but until 1974 was an independent county borough (including North Shields) in its own right.

Glenridding can be found at the foot of Kirkstone Pass at the southern end of Ullswater Lake. Glenridding is the main centre for the Ullswater area.

Coniston is a village located in the southern part of the Lake District National Park, between Coniston Water and Coniston Old Man. Coniston is a popular spot for hill-walking and rock-climbing; there are fine walks to be had on the nearby Furness Fells and Grizedale Forest, and some of the finest rock in the Lake District on the eastern face of Dow Crag, three miles from the village.

Cockermouth is a town that lies at the confluence of the River Cocker as it flows into the River Derwent. It is located on the northwest fringe of the English Lake District. Landmarks include the sizeable but partly ruined Norman castle, the home of Pamela, Lady Egremont. Built at the confluence of the Rivers Cocker and Derwent, the castle has a tilting tower which hangs Pisa-like over Jennings Brewery. The castle, with its preserved dungeons, is only opened to the public once a year during the annual town festival.

Royal Quays is an area of North Shields, North Tyneside, England. It is on the site of former docks and contains the pre-existing North Shields International Ferry Terminal.

Hartlepool is a North Sea port in North East England. Hartlepool has been a major seaport virtually since it was founded, and has throughout its entire history maintained a proud fishing heritage.

Middlesbrough is a town in the Tees Valley conurbation of North East England and sits within the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire. It is the largest and most populous settlement within the Borough of Middlesbrough, which encompasses the town and several outlying villages which have become suburbs.

Bassenthwaite Lake is one of the largest lakes in the Lake District of England. It is long and narrow, approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) long and 3/4 mile wide, but is also extremely shallow, with a maximum depth of about 70 feet (21 m). The lake lies at the foot of Skiddaw, near the town of Keswick.

Sunderland is a city in Tyne and Wear, England. It was formerly a county borough but now forms part of the City of Sunderland. It is situated at the mouth of the River Wear.

Arnside is a village in Cumbria, England. It faces the estuary of the River Kent on the north eastern corner of Morecambe Bay. It is within the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It lies within the borders of the historic county boundaries of Westmorland, near the border with Lancashire.

Penrith is a market town in the county of Cumbria, England. It is in the Eden Valley, just north of the River Eamont, and lies less than 3 miles (5 km) outside the boundaries of the Lake District National Park.
