Juist is one of the seven inhabited East Frisian Islands at the edge of the Lower Saxon Wadden Sea in the southern North Sea, located between Borkum Island (west), Memmert Island (southwest) and Norderney (east). It is also a municipality in the district of Aurich in Lower Saxony in Germany.

Roden is a town in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is located in the municipality of Noordenveld, about 16 (10 miles) km southeast of Groningen. Roden has 15.000 citizens.

Makkum is a village in Wunseradiel in the province Friesland of the Netherlands and has around 3500 citizens (2007).

Greetsiel is a small port on the river Leybucht in western East Frisia, Germany. Greetsiel was first mentioned in letters from the year 1388. Since 1972, Greetsiel forms part of the municipality of Krummhoern, with its administrative seat in Pewsum. The nearest railway station is at Emden, about 15-20 kilometers away, and the two towns are linked by a bus service.

Sneek is a city southwest of Leeuwarden and the seat of the Municipality Sneek in the province of Friesland (Netherlands). The city has approximately 33.000 inhabitants.
