Oban War and Peace Museum in Oban, Argyll and Bute, United Kingdom | Museum

In 1995, commemorations of different kinds were held to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the ending of World War Two.
In Oban, one of the ways in which that Anniversary was commemorated was with the setting up of two short term exhibitions of photographs and memorabilia of the wartime.
Such was the variety and quality of the items donated for display, visitors emphatically requested that the exhibitions be kept open beyond the anniversary period.
The Museum moved to its new premises in the Summer of 2002 and visitor numbers have increased considerably since then.
