Our comfortable Hotel, the Ardyne Hotel, is an elegant listed Victorian Villa in Rothesay designed by John Orkney in 1875 and its importance is recognised by Historic Scotland.
Its setting within well tended gardens creates an ideal ambiance for a relaxing break and its spectacular views across Rothesay Bay to the Cowal Hills and the Kyles of Bute are unsurpassed.

We have 19 en-suite bedrooms all comfortably furnished and well appointed. There is a large lounge & bar, both with stunning seaviews where you can relax, enjoy a drink, read the papers or just sit and stare. Our dining room also enjoys the magnificent views and our menus always feature fresh local produce. Meals are complemented by a fine selection of wines, beers and malt whiskies. Because we are a small team and always buy fresh local produce, advance bookings for dinner are essential.
The Ardyne Hotel, a beautiful Victorian Villa Hotelin Rothesay has many original features retained to add to the authentic atmosphere. The majority of our bedrooms have just been refurbished to a high standard and are equipped with TV, DVD (a good range of DVDs are available to guests) Tea and Coffee making facilities and hairdryers.
Rooms vary in size but all are en-suite and a good number have stunning seaviews. Those facing the garden are very quiet and again the size and layout varies from room to room.
Many of our rooms although advertised as doubles actually have Super King beds! The Hotel is Wi-Fi enabled for those wishing to work whilst staying with us. Our Bedrooms are furnished in a comfortable style. All beds are made with crisp white bed linen complemented with headboards and valances made from Bute Fabrics, which has been woven on the island.
Small weddings and functions are managed by professional experienced staff.Our restaurant has an excellent reputation for serving the Best of Scottish Fayre. Wherever possible we use local produce and prepare all our food fresh to order. Our meat is supplied by local butcher McIntyre's. Our fish and shellfish are also sourced locally and our Kippers, Salmon and Haddock are smoked on the island in Ritchie's smokehouse. Even our milk, cream, cheese and chutneys are produced on the island.
