The ATS Adventure Works Mountaineering School based in Glendora, Los Angeles offers an intro to mountaineering for beginners wanting to learn the basics of moutaineering for ascents. Learn about basic rope travel, ice axes and crampon use, personal protective equipment or PPE, safety and self arrest techniques and basic mountain navigation. There is also an intro to snowshoeing and you can expect to hike a few miles in snow shoes, plus safety and rescue and protective equipment is covered.
