Bicheno by the Bay located in Bicheno, Tasmania in Australia offer 20 separate timber Bungalows, individual beach cottages with their own kitchen, bathroom, separate bedrooms and lounge room. Each one has it's own driveway into its own attached covered carport. Each one has it's own private deck off the lounge and main bedroom. Each one is independent of the others. Scattered over 8 acres, each bungalow is surrounded by gum trees and lawns.
All with unusual (and a few quirky) names, each bungalow is fully furnished and fully equipped for cooking at Bicheno by the Bay. Most are ground level, although a couple have stairs. Carpeted floors, heater, lounge chairs, couch or divan, television and dvd or video make for a comfortable lounge area, while the kitchens are complete with microwave oven and conventional oven, refrigerator, cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery. Dining table and sufficient chairs for all guests completes the common areas.
Bicheno by the Bay has a charming casual ambience that appeals to families. The pine lined Bungalows are warm and spacious, with lots of room for clothes and books and toys - all the usual paraphernalia that children want to bring on holidays! And being able to park undercover right outside the front door makes it easy to get things in and out of your car.
But try keeping the children inside when there's a heated outdoor pool, full size tennis court, free use of canoes in our own canoe lake, and a full size pirate boat and cubby house in the playground!
A fire pit and paved seating area (complete with stump seats!) is a new facility and is a great spot to meet other guests or just to enjoy a drink at the end of the day. The fire is not for cooking, but is perfect for marshmallows! (we have toasting prongs you can borrow)
The 8 acres is large enough for children to experience some adventure without being far from their unit and your watchful eye. They will love playing amongst the gum trees and oyster bay pine groves. Older children will enjoy the wide open spaces and being able to walk to the town and major attractions.
Having your own well equipped kitchen makes for an easy and cheap holiday for families, and a (free) washing machine in your unit and a clothes line right outside is a bonus. Each unit has it's own eclectic selection of reading material. We can lend you playing cards and board games.
Our licensed restaurant, Seasons, is under new management and is serving up delicious a la carte meals at lunch and dinner time. The chefs will do room service if you would prefer to eat at home.
