Welcome to Bouquet Garni, situated at 100 Willis street Wellington in one of Wellingtons oldest buildings, Bouquet Garni offers all facets of the dinning experience, with a wine bar on the first floor, an exceptional Restaurant on the 2nd floor, and a beautiful functions room on the third floor all combining to make Bouquet Garni one of Wellingtons priemier loctions for all occasions. Built in 1902, this unique three story building combines Victoria grandeur with French Renaissance style.
It's had a colourful history, starting life as the surgery and residence of Dr. Henry Pollen, later it became known as The House of Ladies and in 1987 it was shifted 70 metres down Boulcott Street to make way for the new Majestic development.
The house has an A rating from the Historic Places Trust, who after a long battle recently allowed architect Trace Murdoch to open the cramped interior, adding 'user friendly' to the building 's long list of attributes.
Linking the three stories is a striking tower of light, designed and constructed by George Rose, with 66 illuminated display cabinets made from oak and mahogany - each containing classic emblems of kiwi culture...
