The DeKlomp Wooden Shoe & Delft Factory in Holland, Michigan makes Dutch pottery famous around the world. Visitors can watch the making of the delftware from pouring the liquid clay into molds, to firing the clay at 2,000 degrees and then talk to the Artists as they hand paint the Dutch designs onto them and then glaze them. Wooden shoes are also produced here by a wooden shoe hand carver that was specially trained in the Netherlands, and visitors can watch the shoes being made from a block of poplar wood using authentic Dutch machinery - fascinating.
