In the heart of historic Winchester, England in the United Kingdom, The Eclipse Inn is open all day, every day, offering excellent hospitality to local residents and to the many visitors who come to explore the city throughout the year. For the former, it is a well-loved `local', a place to enjoy a drink and to put the world to rights, or to take a break from business or shopping in the middle of the city of Winchester, England.
For the latter, The Eclipse Inn is a welcome spot to pause for refreshment on a tour of one of the country's most interesting and historic cities. For many years the building was the rectory of St Lawrence's Church, and it has been a Public house since 1890. Behind the black and white frontage with handsome timbers and small-paned windows, original oak beams, oak settles and an open fireplace create a delightfully traditional ambience in which to relax and enjoy a drink and something to eat.
At The Eclipse Inn we pride ourselves on producing good quality homecooked meals at a competitive price. Our dishes range from the traditional to the modern and we hope that there will be something to meet everyone's taste.
Choose a hot Halloumi cheese bap if you're looking for a snack or try our homemade steak and kidney pie or salmon fishcakes for something more substantial.
Our Sunday roast is reputed to be one of the best in Winchester and with a choice of beef, lamb, pork or chicken with up to fourteen accompanying vegetables, it speaks for itself. Its every bit as good as Mum used to make.
