Welcome to Honister House, an 18th century home at the heart of the Northern Lakes. Honister House has a number of interesting features including timber beams and wood burning stoves. It is one of the oldest properties in Keswick with a great deal of character.
We welcome all visitors from the seasonal visitor to the walkers and cyclists. Centrally located just off the market square this Keswick Bed and Breakfast is ideally placed for the amazing local scenery on offer. All the attractions of Keswick are on the doorstep of this Bed and Breakfast. Under the AA's new national rating system, Honister House has been graded AA 4 Star and given a "Best Breakfast" award.
Honister House is an ideal place for exclusive use by small parties of friends or family to get together for special occasions. We can arrange for cakes, flowers, champagne, etc to be available if required.
The Bed and Breakfast has retained all its historical market town charm whilst Keswick has also been developing as a cultural and tourist centre for visitors from home and around the world. It is a convenient starting point to visit the homes of Beatrix Potter, William Wordsworth and John Ruskin, and the landscape which inspired them all.
Keswick has an array of festivals and special events throughout the year, which adds to its growing appeal as an all the year round venue whatever the weather.
Walkers of every ability will enjoy the local fells, whether it's a strenuous trip up Skiddaw or a gentle stroll along the lake shore. Many of the walks can be undertaken straight from the house. For those who prefer to take it easy, what could be better than a cruise on Derwentwater with views that will stay with you for a lifetime. Keswick is also a major stop over on the national C2C cycle route.
Honister House accommodation is ideal for short or long breaks in the Lake District. We have three double rooms available all year round, "Catbells", "Blencathra" and "Causey Pike".
